How to Connect Your Domain

Let's get your template living at your own web address (like yourbusiness.com).

Before you start: You'll need to log into wherever you bought your domain (GoDaddy, Namecheap, Squarespace, etc.). Keep that tab handy.

Using a Website Template AND a Funnel Template? Here's the easiest setup:

  • Website Template: your main domain, like www.yourbusiness.com
  • Funnel Template: a subdomain, like go.yourbusiness.com or freebie.yourbusiness.com

You'll follow the steps below once for each one.

Part 1: Add your domain in GoHighLevel

Step 1: In your sub-account, click Settings (bottom of the left menu).

Step 2: Click Domains & URL Redirects.

Step 3: Click + Connect a domain, then choose Connect next to Funnels/Websites.

Step 4: Type in your domain and click Continue.

  • Website Template: Use the www version, like www.yourbusiness.com.
  • Funnel Template: Use your subdomain, like go.yourbusiness.com. (Or, if the funnel is your only site, you can use the www version instead.)

Step 5: GoHighLevel will show you the DNS records you need to add. Keep this screen open!

Part 2: Add the DNS records at your domain provider

Step 6: In your domain provider's tab, find the DNS settings (it might be called "DNS," "Manage DNS," or "DNS Records").

Step 7: Add the record GoHighLevel gave you. It'll look something like this:

  • Type: CNAME
  • Host/Name: www (or your subdomain name, like "go")
  • Value/Points to: the address GoHighLevel shows you

Only add one record per host. If there's already a record with the same host, edit or remove the old one first.

Step 8: Head back to GoHighLevel and click Verify. If it doesn't verify right away, don't panic! DNS changes can take anywhere from a few minutes to 24 hours to kick in.

Step 9: Once it's verified, choose your website or funnel from the dropdown.

Step 10: Pick the default page. That's the page people see when they type in your web address.

  • Website Template: Choose your home page.
  • Funnel Template: Choose the first step of your funnel (usually your opt-in or sales page).

Step 11: Click Link Domain. GoHighLevel will set up your security certificate (the little lock in the browser) automatically. This takes a few minutes.
